Dare to bare it all this summer
Like traveling light? You’ll be glad to know the Adriatic is teeming with FKK (“Freikörperkultur” or “free body culture”) camps.
A famous nudist-friendly destination for decades, Croatia now has over 30 official naturist camps along its coast. The majority of them, official or not, are just a short walk away from centers of towns or resorts.
The oldest is Koversada, in Istria. Other prominent camps include Solaris on Lanterna, Valalta by Rovinj and Bunculuka by Baska. The highest concentration of camps is in Istria, where you’ll also find Kanegra (Umag), Ulika (Porec) and Istra (Porec).
Among Croatia’s most popular nudist beaches are that to the south of the island of Lokrum, just off of Dubrovnik, and Jerolim beach opposite Hvar, declared last year by CNN to be one of the world’s top 15 nudist destinations.
Be it in an established resort or on one of the many wild beaches you may stumble upon on your Adriatic adventure, swim the way nature intended this summer.
